The Ralph Cam

This is an almost-live picture of Ralph the Gerbil. Or rather, it is a series of pictures of the large "playroom" part of Ralph's rather extensive Habitrail® domain. The images are captured at five-minute intervals. They are theoretically updated every 20 minutes (generally at 20 after, 40 after, and the top of the hour).

You may have to hit Reload on your browser to get the latest updated series of images. If you have Netscape, this page should automagically reload every 20 minutes. Even so, you may have to do a "super reload" by holding the option or alt key while hitting the Reload button in Netscape to get the image to reload properly (this is because Netscape caches the images, which don't get updated in a normal reload).

Here's what you are looking at:

If the date stamp on the topmost image is much older than 20 minutes ago (we're on Central Daylight-savings Time currently, -5 GMT), we may be experiencing technical difficulties. Or I may be using the camera or my Mac for something else. Sorry. Please try back later, in that case. If you can't see Ralph, he may be elsewhere in his home, or sleeping. (Ralph's private sleeping area is off-limits to video.) Here's a photograph to tide you over till he shows up. Ralph seems to be less active during the middle of the daylight hours, and most active in the morning, early evening, and the middle of the night (local time).
