This Web site is a free service offered by JCR Design and Consulting ("the author," "us," and "we" below).
Information is provided "as-is" without any warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, including all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness. We make no representations about the suitability of this information for any purpose. In no event shall we be liable for any special, indirect, or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data, or profits, whether in an action of contract, negligence, or other tortious action, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of this information. You, the reader, assume all risk.
In other words, if something doesn't work the way you want it to, tough. If something is inaccurate, tough. If the particular arrangement of bits on this page triggers an obscure bug in your browser software that locks up your hard disk, causing your computer to catch fire, tough. If anything you do as a result of accessing this site causes you to lose millions of dollars, it's you that is out the millions, not us.
We reserve the right to alter, edit, modify, or otherwise change these documents in any way the we see fit, without any warning whatsoever.
The names of John C. Rivard, JCR Design and Consulting, or Pegabunny Publishing may not be used in advertising or publicity pertaining to distribution of this information without specific, written prior permission.
Junk EmailThe fact that we have published an email address on this Web site does not indicate that it is OK to send unsolicited commercial email ("junk email"). If you have an urge to do this, please click here.
Use of this site indicates your acceptance of the above terms. If you don't agree to abide by the above terms, you do not have our permission to use this site, and should leave immediately.
That being said, we do want to make this site as good as possible, are more than happy to hear your suggestions and comments. If you inform us of a mistake, we will do our best to verify and correct any factual errors, expired or bad links, and various other inaccurate information.
Opinions, however, are another matter entirely. We hold that publishing on the World Wide Web, like publishing a newspaper or book, is a form of speech protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. Opinions expressed here are those of the author, and can change over time, but will not be censored.
If you are offended by anything you see on these pages, we're truly sorry. However, we respectfully point out that you can easily avoid offense by choosing not to visit again.
If you are concerned about what your children might see or read here and wish to censor what they can access, then we suggest you exercise some parental authority and discipline, but don't expect us to do it for you. There are now some filtering tools available and in development to help you determine what your children can see, including SurfWatch, Net Nanny, and Cyber Patrol, among others. You are warmly welcome to complain to us about content by sending email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will read and consider your comments, but this doesn't mean we will necessarily actually do anything about them.
Any opinions expressed are those of the author. They are not necessarily those of the author's service provider, employer, or anyone else.
In addition to local material, these Web pages contain many links to other sites. Please note the we do not have any control over the content of external sites. Accordingly, we assume no responsibility for the content of any site listed here. If you have a problem with something you saw on one of these sites, take a deep breath. Relax. Count to ten. Now, if you still have the urge to complain, do so to the administrator at that site (try Webmaster@sitename.com)--we can't help you.
Providing a link to another site does not necessarily indicate that we endorse the views expressed there. By the same token, it does not indicate that the other site supports the views expressed here, so please don't bother them about us.
If you choose to communicate with us via an email or comment form, we will not give your email address to anyone else without your permission. We will not send you junk email. In fact, we find it abhorrent.
Like most Web sites, we do keep logs of Web site hits that can identify a visitor's IP address and host name. We use these logs to generate our hit report. Specific host information is not included in the report, unless your host has more than 100 hits to the site (this generally restricts the list to proxy servers for larger organizations) or your organization is in the top 50 in terms of hit traffic.
We also track the most popular keywords sought with our search engine, but we do not associate this with host information (we track which words were searched but not who searched them).
